The Whitsundays is certainly a quintessential little beach town but when it comes to award winning, industry leading wedding suppliers, the Whitsundays definitely packs a punch!
A major motion picture editor, a hair stylist to the stars and a cake maker trained by the Royal Family’s cake artist are just a few of the professional wedding suppliers available in the Whitsundays. Let us introduce you to them as well as their industry leading friends…
Iconic Bride Photography
Iconic Bride Photography is hands down the most awarded wedding supplier in Airlie Beach. With accolades stretching back to the last decade, there’s no surprise why Iconic Bride is in such hot demand.
Most recently taking home silver distinction at the AIPP Awards (the be all and end all of national photography awards) the hilarious and humble creative director, Norina Jane, is most definitely a rare bread. She’s one of the few wedding photographers who has studied photography, and when she’s behind the lens couples just seem to fall into place, creating that picture perfect and often award winning portrait.
“Something about Norina just makes you completely relaxed, as if you’ve known each other for years” – this sense of security along with lots of laughs is what makes Norina and the Iconic Bride team the bees knees of the photography world and the go to photographer for Airlie’s most luxurious wedding venues.

Whitsundays Wedding Hair Lounge
Working as a trainer for GHD during GHD’s hay day (we know it’s all about Cloud Nine now), Luisa was sent all across Australia to style super models, celebrities, and train the who’s who of salon owners. If Luisa wasn’t on set for Australia’s Next Top Model than chances are she was flying between Sydney and the Gold Coast doing hair backstage for Sass & Bide or Alex Perry.
Being a State Educator for GHD meant she had to be in the forefront of styling, she was so good at forecasting the next big trend, Luisa was asked to create looks to be taught throughout Australia and New Zealand for the following year. What look will she create for you?
Blue Turtle Video
Have you heard of a little film called ‘The Bank Job’ starring Jason Statham or the iconic Australian Film – The Dish, or maybe the TV Series – Kath and Kim? Well this guy, Justin, was on the senior editing team for each. A trained colourist and cinematographer, Justin now owns Blue Turtle Video based right here in the Whitsundays. Blue Turtle’s wedding videos are second to none and it only takes a few minutes of watching one of these masterpieces to be hooked to the creative, emotionally driven style.
Aside from pure cinematic joy from Blue Turtle’s videos, Justin has the personality to match. Every couple, camera shy or not, is put totally at ease. This reflects back into each wedding video to create a natural, refreshing feel. In Justin’s words, “it’s the little things that make the big picture”.
Flower Hut Whitsundays
Alstroemaria, Bouvardia, Gladoli, Molluca Balm. Sounds like the ingredient list of the newest mineral foundation right? Wrong, they are all flowers! Thankfully Airlie Beach has the talented ladies at Flower Hut, the only trained florists in the area, to help set us straight.
Often gracing the pages of all the major bridal mags, Flower Hut knows flowers and more importantly knows which blooms can withstand the tropical heat to create a lasting look.
So what happens when the Flower Hut team, lead by owner and godmother of floristry, Janelle, is given full reign on creating a one of a kind bridal bouquet, which also went on to be one of the top ten bouquets (out of tens of thousands) in the Tesselaar Top Gun Awards 2013? This happens….

Oh, and they did it the year before too with this one….
Whitsunday Baked Creations
Debbie, cake maker extraordinaire at Whitsunday Baked Creations, and your new bff (because she always brings sweet treats), started her baking career on a whim, creating her first real cake for her first child’s first birthday over 12 years ago, and since then hasn’t looked back.
After falling in love with baking and decorating Debbie took the bull by the horns and grabbed every opportunity that came her way. Lucky for her one of these opportunities was in the UK with the Royal Family’s cake maker learning the tricks and skills required to make ‘Royal’ icing, pun intended.
In 2013 Debbie won gold for unique flavoured cupcakes and silver for novelty decorated cupcakes at the North Queensland Baking Show. And just last year Whitsunday Baked Creations was ranked third place in the annual Queensland Australian Bridal Academy awards with an astounding 99.67% satisfaction rating as surveyed by past couples.
So if you’re after a cake fit for a queen then look no further.
Where luxury, style and a tailored service come together. One Oceanview was recently rated as one of the top 15 places to visit in the world right now by Traveler and after stepping foot through the large glass doors you’ll easily see why.
Guests will be awed not only by the luxury of the custom built 2,000 sq meter home, but also by the immense attention to detail. Fresh local ingredients create One Oceanview’s gourmet wedding menus, one of a kind local art adorns the walls, fresh market flowers fill every room of the home and the personalised service has been compared to the butlers at the Ritz Carlton.

Built as a tropical palace for his princess, Ralph Hogan unintentionally created Australia’s most exquisite wedding venue. Where else can to you go from sweeping sea views to the rainforest, back to a catarium and then down to the beach. And that iconic aisle – unlike any other!
And the brides agree! At the Queensland Annual Bridal Industry Awards, Villa Botanica was the winner out of 275 state-wide nominees and 22 finalists in Queensland, rated an amazing 99.75% by brides as Best Ceremony Venue in 2014. And in 2015 they did it again, this time for Best Reception Venue! With a venue this gobsmackingly beautiful we definitely say trifecta in 2016!
